6 months old!!

Kate is 6 months old today! I can't believe it, time has flown by! I don't know how she does it but Kate gets more and more precious every day. Kate is really working on crawling. She can turn herself in a full circle and go backwards but moving foward is much more difficult. She can scoot forward using her head and dragging her body along but it is very tiring so she does not attempt it very often. She has almost mastered sitting. I still have to be close by because she still topples over from time to time. She is eating solid foods regurlarly. She really likes everything so far but her favorites are pears and carrots. Her favorite things to do are to shriek and blow rasberries. She has also started to babble but mainly prefers to hear herself make loud noises. She is so curious and tries to grab everything especially my hair! Anything and everything goes into the mouth so we have to be very careful. Kate is an extremely happy baby and usually has a big smile for everyone she sees.

We went to the doctor today and Kate weighs 16 pounds, 7 ounces and is 27 inches long. I am so thankful for my sweet little girl and I can't wait for the next 6 months!

5 months old!

Kate is 5 months old! She gets more adorable and more fun every day! She is rolling over all of the time now. I can't keep her off of her stomach. She will focus on something that she wants and will start moving her legs to try and get there but gets extremely frustrated when she can't make it. I think I may have an early crawler on my hands. She is also trying to sit up by herself but isn't quite there yet. She has bumped her head a few times as she has toppled over. Kate never meets a stranger. She has a big smile for every person she sees. She is very interested in food and tries to get mine all of the time. She basically wants everything that comes across her path. She is such a precious girl and Clinton and I are more and more thankful for her every day!

4 Month Dr. Visit

Kate went to the doctor yesterday and is a growing, healthy girl. She weighs 14 pounds (between the 50th and 75th percentile) and is 26.5 inches long (above the 95th percentile). She's tall and skinny! She has eczema which has spread all over her body. The Dr. thinks that is why she has had so much trouble sleeping lately. Now that we have been covering her in cream and giving her benadryl, she is sleeping through most of the night and is back to taking long naps during the day. Hopefully we'll start resting again now!! It is a testament to Kate's happy personality that even through all of this itching, she has been in a great mood!

Kate is 4 months old today!

Kate on her 4 month birthday!

Our Valentine on Valentine's Day

First time to eat rice cereal!

Okay, Clinton wants me to become a blogger so here goes. Hopefully I'll keep up with it... we'll see!

Kate is 4 months old today and I can't believe it! On one hand I feel like she is so brand new but on the other hand I feel like she has been here forever! This has been a really fun month. Kate has really developed a fun personality. She constantly smiles and laughs. She LOVES being kissed and will open her mouth to try and kiss you back. She started rolling but it really scares her so it only happens involuntarily. She grabs everything in sight now and most everything goes straight to her mouth. It is so much fun to watch her discover new things every day! She was sleeping through the night until this week when she decided to start waking up in the middle of the night. I have been recently thinking that I want another newborn until I remembered how tired I was waking up all night long! Every morning when I get her out of bed we play a game where we gurgle back and forth to one another and then Kate makes her all of her noises to see how loud she can be. She started rice cereal and loves it! Kate is such a joy and such a sweet baby. It is so much fun to see her grow up and explore new things but I have to admit I miss the newborn days where she would snuggle with me all day long. We love our baby girl so much and can't wait for another month of new experiences!
